More About Freegal Music

Download and Stream Music and Music Videos

New content is added almost every day! Access 15 million songs from 30,000 labels originating in over 100 countries, with no software to download and no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions.

How it works: Login with your library card number and your PIN for the library catalog (usually the last for digits of your phone number). You may use five downloads per week, starting each Monday. Songs (MP3 format) count as one download, and videos (MP4 format) count as two downloads each. In addition, you can stream music 3 hours per day. Stream individual songs, albums, create and save playlists, or play existing curated playlists. There is also a Freegal App for Apple and Android devices.

What is the difference between Streaming and Downloading?
Downloading is capturing and keeping the file on a permanent basis. Streaming is accessing the file on a temporary basis, while being connected to the internet. Streaming gives you access to more music. Your daily streaming limit is 3 hours per day.

You can do both with Freegal!
With Freegal’s new streaming service, you now have a DAILY streaming allotment of 3 hours in addition to the weekly download allotment of 5 songs. Counters are in the upper right corner and will keep you informed of your allotments and usage.

How to stream, how to download:
To stream a song, click the play arrow button on the song. To stream an entire album, click the Stream button on the album’s page. To download a song onto your computer or mobile device, click downward-pointing arrow next to the song.

You can use Freegal Playlists:
There are over 100 playlists of pre-selected songs to meet every mood or whim..

Or create your own personalized playlist:
